I believe the only German Zeppelin still flying on 6 May 1937 was the
Hindenburg, as the Graf Zeppelin(I) was grounded in Germany, getting ready to be dismantled. LZ-127 = Graf Zeppelin, deflated in June 1937 at Frankfurt-am-Main. Hung from roof of hangar. LZ-129 = Hindenburg, destroyed by fire on 6 May 1937. LZ-130 = Graf Zeppelin II, sister ship to Hindenburg. First flight was on 14 Sept. 1938. The Graf Zeppelin (I) and the Graf Zeppelin II were both dismantled in March 1940. Graf II never flew to the U.S. or beyond the English Channel in 1939. Ford U. Ross "John S.
