Hi Roland,
Im glad to see you want to learn HG. It is a lot of fun indeed! However, Im sure alot of people here will agree when I say that flying a glider is not very much like flying a plane, even a small one. While other aviation experience may help a little in transitioning to a weight-shift glider, gliding is a completely different experience and requires special skills and consideration which is not present in powered flight. In short, you will need some training before buying equipment and wings. Some may argue this point with me, but I say it just for your personal safety. You left out a very important detail Roland, where are you located! We can point you in the right direction if we know where you are. If youre in the United States, you can go to http://www.ushga.org and look under "where to learn," there you can search for the proper training in your neck of the woods. Welcome to the condor club!
