As always with IFR Pilots, you get much more out of the answers than you
originally asked! Thanks very much for the responses and insights.

Ive decided to go with the 430 for a couple of reasons. The main stumbling
block was removed yesterday when I was playing with the simulators for the
GX-60 and the GNS-430. I was trying that departure that Id mentioned
before and discovered the bearing indicator on the HSI in the 430 sim.
Looks just like an ADF needle to me, except I dont need manually rotate the
compass card (I usually did the math in my head, anyway). I dont have to
keep cranking the obs on the KI209, so Im back to my low workload situation
and happy as a clam.

As an aside to Paul Sanchez, I wish it was a second 430, but at that point I
think Id buy a 530. In a TriPacer?!?!? Looks like I have too much time on
my hands ... time to go fly approaches.
