Aside from the fact that they can automatically crossfile, one reason why
430s took off is that they are a complete package. Since you still have
to be redundant, and a second radio helps in non-emergency anyways, why
not have a second 430 as that backup if you have the money (I dont).
What I have heard dual 430/530 users do is play with the data pages
on one unit while leaving mapping on the first, or even leave them on
different pages all the time, for example one to map, one to show
course and data. The 530 of course is just what you do if you have
the money.
