The "pseudo HSI" on a GPS shows your ground track, greatly simplifying many
tasks. Why bother with heading when you can know your ground track directly? "Scott Moore" news:3DA12B29.2EAD086E@inreach.com... | Flying the Garmin 430 back tonight, I realized something. The little | plane icon can be pretty wrong in a crosswind situation. With a good | 5-10 degrees of crosswind course correction, the airplane icon reflects | the ground track of the airplane, and can look quite wrong for the | heading. Makes me wonder about all those "pseudo HSIs" out there. |
