Im in the same boat. You might think about becoming an AME- it was a
good learning experience. I also work as an Air Force flight surgeon and
it opens a lot of doors, like travel as well as back seat time in high
performance fighters.

Are you talking about making a living in aviation or as a source of
hobby income?
