Scott...I fly with the Anywhere Map product from Controlvision
which does have a "pseudo HSI". One needs to never look at a
compass or CDI again....take my word for it! One needs to only
keep the projected track line on top of the desired track line on
the moving map.

I dont think that he meant to follow the CDI, but rather to marry
the desired track line with the projected track (the lubber line at
the top of the pseudo-HSI.

Not really when viewed on a moving map display. Sounds as if your
experience has been with "numbers only" panel mount GPSs.

With "approach" selected, the Anywhere Map draws the final approach
course on the map with the pseudo-HSI also shown. I just turn left
or right until the "widdle-airplane" points straight down the
approach course and then keep it there, wind is already accounted
for. I really dont care what the heading is.

BTW, my experience includes several years as a Part 121 FAA
designated Navigation Check Airman for Doppler, Omega, and INS
navigation systems.
