>BTW, where are you renting from? Thanks to Jeffrey and the others for your suggestions! Theres nothing better than asking a group of local pilots to get a cross-section of opinion regarding common procedures in a congested area. This is Usenet working at its best. For the curious, I live in the New York City area and will be visiting in southern CA, where I am checked out in a rental C-172RG Cutlass out of VNY (Van Nuys). The whole trip will be a circle of family visits: up to 1O3 (Lodi), across to APC (Napa), down to SQL (San Carlos), then back to VNY. And yes, Im familiar with what morning fog out there can be like. Last time I was in the area, I needed to go IFR to get out of SQL early in the morning. |
