Thanks all for the points of view. The consensus of the replies (I posted
both here and on rec.aviation. homebuilt) seems to be that Narcos
after-market support could stand some major improvement. I think Ill pass
on their transponder. I was also tempted by the Garmin 320 but saw a majorly
negative review by the Avionics West guy, Tom, who I have always found to be
an accurate reporter (see the Avionics West site on avweb.com for his
transponder review). Looks like Im going with the KT76A (which is solid
state except for the cavity tube) and hope the cavitron doesnt go for a few
years.
