Oh yes, 4nm. If I had a buck for each time the locals at Winter Havens
Gilbert blast the Brits for doing big circuits, I would buy myself a Gulfstream V! Winter Haven has a flying school for Brits on site- they can account for 50% of the traffic sometimes. Mind you, these guys fly *really* tight circuits- like turning crosswind almost as soon as they leave the ground, with 0.5 to 1nm spacing between the downwind and the runway. I suppose they begin their descent as soon as they reach circuit height. What do the FARs have to say about pattern dimensions for light a/c? > Short final is 4NM? And people complain about wide patterns here. |
