Andrews has a seperate approach frequency that isnt published - 119.3.
Andres owns the airspace around their airport under 2500 (or so). You can transit Andrews at 2000 or whatever, and they may or may not hand you off to Baltimore. They are less busy, so youre more likely to get a clearance from them. If you want higher, you must talk to WAS. On Sunday, I came up to DC from the Outer Banks of NC. I picked up ZDC down in NC, got handed off to ORF, then ZDC again, and they passed me off to WAS. I was at 7500 and got an immediate clearance from WAS. --Dan On 23 Aug 2000, Lawrence Wang wrote: > Im flying from North Carolina to Martin State, MD (MTN), Thurs afternoon. > Whats the best strategy to transition through DCA/ADW/BWI airspace? > Does Andrews have a separate approach freq and are there any advantages > to callling them vs. wash approach?
