Back in 1977, I had 34.5 hours logged when I started my check ride. The
check pilot said hed make sure we did at least 0.5 before we were through.
We actually did a full hour, so I had 35.5 when he signed my license.

Yeah, to be honest, I hadnt logged about 10 hours of dual with my father
(starting when I was 14), and about 50 hours as a test engineer in single
engine aircraft.

Still, it makes a good story!
