>noticed that we dont have any W&B or owners handbook in the plane... Im >going to ask the CFI about it next time we go up. Am I being to anal or >is there not such a thing when dealing with the FAA. Thats correct: theres no such thing. I went for a medical flight check with an FAA examiner, and he wouldnt let me fly unless I got the printed checklist out of the seat pocket and preflighted with that. (Id never seen it before.) He almost made the plane go back to the factory because there were no pins in the nuts securing the flying wires. We had ensured that the a/w cert was out in the open and secure. Of course people almost never take check rides in the Cub. When I had my check ride, the examiner warned me in advance that Id have to do a weight & balance problem. I had to spend 15 mins with the mech to delve the information from his records and the microform from New Piper Aircraft. I passed the information on to the instructors and put it in my own copy of that pseudo-POH/checklist, but to my shame Ive never looked at it since. all the best - Dan Ford Incident at Muc Wa (a novel of war in South Vietnam) "Sad, bawdy, and compelling" -- Detroit Free Press http://danford.net/mucwa.htm |
