Subject:Re: C-175 Useable fuel

This came out of my uncles POH. He has had his 175 since 1962 or so.

I have copied from My 1961 Owners Manual this paragraph on page 1-7:

FUEL SYSTEM

Fuel is supplied to the engine from two 26-gallon aluminum tanks, one in
each
wing. From the tanks, fuel flows by gravity through a selector valve and a
strainer to the carburetor.
Fuel useable in all flight attitudes is 21 gallons from each tank.

Now all the 175s have the same tanks in their wings, however they didi have
an
optional tank in the baggage compartment that held twenty gallons. I have
never
heard what this guy is asking about the different models. 175s were built
between 1958 and 1962 and there were 2500 of them built. From 1960 on they
looked like my 175 with the swept tail and some of the 1962s had
controlable
props.
