Heres what I did. I planned out everything Thursday night (leaving
Thu. evening was not an option) and got a good nights rest. Then this
morning I woke up early, checked the weather out good and found there
was a stationary front right through the center of Kansas. That wasnt
suppose to happen, but no big deal. I didnt think it was too strong
and it looked pretty patchy, so I decided to load up and go to the
airport, which is about 40 minutes away. There I would make the
decision. The closer I got, the more fog there was. Figures right?
When I left home, there was NO fog. At Maryville, Im guessing ground
visibility was about 1/4 of a mile. You could cut it with a dull butter
knife. Flight service said it would lift to about 1000 AGL by noon. I
had to be there by 10:00, so I was just plain out of luck this time.
Im scheduled for the tour again this Wednesday, but the plane may not
be available, depending on if this other guy gets his XC out of the way
by then. Hopefully next time. ;-) Thank you all for your suggestions.

Oh, and I realized no matter how many minutes I stare at each WX chart,
the weather will not change. ;-)
