Dustin,

Sounds like a good call, tough luck about the fog. Having a backup plan
(i.e., going on Wednesday) and being willing to use it, (when what you
really want is to go NOW!) shows a level of maturity that will serve you
well.

If you can, persevere and keep trying to fly to Salina. Whenever I have
someplace that I need to be, my first thought is how close is the nearest
airport to where I am going. When the destination IS an airport, it
doesnt take me long to decide HOW I want to go!

I think it would be an outstanding experience to fly into the school where
you are thinking about continuing your flight training (Im making an
assumption here). The airport at Salina is a tower controlled former
military field with huge runways and significant light jet traffic.
Probably a bit different than what you are used to (another assumption,
forgive me if Im wrong). The experience of flying there will help you in
assessing their program. (Theres an argument to use on your parents!)

Let us know how it turns out.
