>What plane would you recommend as a first plane? Piper Archer or Cessna 172? >Both new. Any other recommendations in this price category? Must be a new >plane. The Cirrus SR20 is worth a look. Its in the same price range as the C-172 and Archer, and its much faster. Youll get about 120 knots out of the Cessna and Piper, while the SR20 will give you 160 knots on the same fuel burn. The SR20 has other features going for it--a large MFD, a side stick, and so on. www.cirrusdesign.com I havent flown the SR20, but I did fly the Lancair Columbia 400, which is another new composite design, and if the SR20 is anything at all like it, youd be remiss for not at least checking it out. :) --Ron |
