"Don" news:9bap8ucjb9h4ibc34jto9vrnrsnbs5a3j1@4ax.com... > We wont fly over water beyond gliding distance of land but is it any What do you mean, we? <:-)) I make as many as a dozen or more single engine crossings of Lake Michigan almost every year. > more hazardous than flying at night? Whats the chance of making a > night landing without hitting something big and hard? Depends on where you live. Around here, there are lots of fields, interspersed with lots of buildings and trees. We are close to the dividing line...North of here its mostly trees, lakes and small hills. So a night landing around here would give you a good chance of hitting something hard...Whether its all that big or not...North of here you chances get better..at hitting something that is. -- Roger (K8RI EN73) WWW.RogerHalstead.com N833R, Worlds Oldest Debonair?
