And 97.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot. Where did you find that
one? My experience as an instructor would not bear that one out at all. Its
probably the other way around. I would estimate that less than 20% of students
who started (whether they were my students or students of other instructors)
training did not complete it.

Furthermore, those who begin private pilot training generally do not do so
because of any perceived potential of a earning a huge salary as an airline
pilot. They do it because its fun! (Whoa...fun...what a concept.)
