Exactly. A "soft field" is one that is genuinely soft. Say, a grass strip with poor drainage after its been raining for a few weeks. Now *that* is soft. :) A dry grass strip in good condition is probably one of the easiest surfaces to land on, IMHO. Presents its own unique issues (braking, for example...though what you lose in braking ability, you get back somewhat in increased rolling friction :) ), but overall not hard. Lots of fun though!
