I know a guy that had the same problem with cows a few years back. Only
real difference was that he was sh#$faced drunk and landed in a farmers field 400yds parallel to his own grass strip. Ended up hitting a cow (killed it) and totalled a fairly nice C172. Needless to say, the FAA determined that it would be best if he no longer held a PPL. Another guy I know was doing a zero visibility take-off in a KingAir 200 and clipped a deer with one of his main gear. It wouldnt retract, so he had to orbit until the fog cleared and someone on the ground could see the damage. He got it back down without a problem, but he refuses to do the ZVTs anymore no matter how much the boss wants to go play golf!
