>This afternoon I flew one of my schools (Sunbird Aviation based at CHD >in Chandler AZ) 172s with my instructor.. Since I have begun taking I did spin training and aerobatics at Chandler last year. Some different from New Hampshire! Given that you are learning at a municipal airport, you are gaining great training in radio work and the like, but very little in what its like to fly off the beaten path. Due south of Chandler theres a dirt strip that is maintained I think by the University of Arizona. If your instructor hasnt taken you down there, ask him if you can make some landings there. The experience is entirely different and will stand you in good stead later. My account of Chandler is at http://www.danford.net/chandler.htm Have fun, keep em flying! all the best -- Dan Ford (email: webmaster@danford.net) see the Warbirds Forum at http://www.danford.net Vietnam | Flying Tigers | Pacific War | Brewster Buffalo | Piper Cub |
