...while the term "turbo-supercharger" is no longer in common parlance,
technically ANY device which mechanically compresses the intake air is a
"supercharger". These days we tend to call any exhaust-gas driven
supercharger a turbocharger, but "turbocharger" came from "turbine-driven
supercharger".
