Well, that wasnt exactly what was told to me by the FBO when I was
renting for flight lessons. I was told by the FBO that I needed to carry, at that time, the standard policy, which covering liability for injury and damage to other things and specifically covered the $1000 deductible on his policy coverage of damage to the plane. This was a standard renters policy from Avemco who also said essentially the same thing. The policy was the same whether I was renting for lessons or for flight around the area.
