No, I want a good RF receiver (module) up front. And can you please tell me
which issue it will appear in? Dont want to miss it!

Seriously, I have been disappointed that the little SAW receivers (MICRF, RFM,
etc.) wont demodulate anywhere near fast enough (about 100K at max
sensitivity) whereas you need more like a megabit rate to really decode the
pulse stream. [I hate RF!]

Admittedly there are different goals here -- the original poster wanted to
double check his own xpndr and for that a basic crystal set will work. *I*
want to see everyone EXCEPT myself (I already know I am there ). Ive even
considered buying that new $395 pseudo-TCAD pseudo-Monroy unit just to get a
fast RF receiver/demodulator.

A Kitplane project? Maybe...
