Subject:Original PT-17 Propeller F/A on E-Bay
From:Dan & Jan Hollenbaugh

Hi, pardon the sales patter. Ive listed an original, unused PT-17
propeller on E-bay. The auction can be seen at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=433564768

The full e-bay description reads,

"My father, shown in the photo, bought this propeller as war surplus in
1946, and has been hanging on to it all these years. It is an original,
unused WWII-vintage Sensenich propeller for a PT-17 training airplane. For
those wanting to know the dimensions, you can estimate from my fathers
height - 58". There are no visible delaminations and no damage to the
blades. The propeller has NEVER been mounted on an aircraft. The original
sealing corks are still in all of the mounting bolt holes. The varnish on
one blade is slightly discolored by age, as that blade was left exposed in
storage for a number of years, and there is a very small amount of surface
corrosion on the metal leading edge sheath on that blade. Otherwise the
original markings, varnish, and metalwork are perfect. The original markings
from the factory are very clear, and read, "PT-17 AIRPLANE R-670-5 ENGINE
220 HP 2100 RPM PART NO. 42K11317 SERIAL NO. 49904". This is an excellent
and very rare original specimen of a WWII PT-17 training aircraft propeller.
With an afternoon of clean-up, it would make an exceptional display. It
appears ready, after a quick cleaning and some new varnish, for mounting and
flight. However, WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE PROPELLER AS AIRWORTHY, AND
STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANY BUYER CONSULT SENSENICH BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE IT
ON AN AIRCRAFT. Buyer pays actual packaging and shipping costs, which I
would roughly estimate as $100.00 within the US, depending on distance from
its location in Northern NY State. E-mail with any questions. Payment by
Money order only. I am listing this for my father, and once the sale is
arranged, final payment and shipping will be handled directly with him."

I hope youll take a look, and pass this along to anyone else who may be
interested.
