King came along and took the market from them (just as UPS is now taking it from King). Narco radios are not all that bad, overall, but I think most people would rate King higher. > Contrast > this to the Narco radios that the mfr. wont even service anymore (I > saw something about this in one of the aviation newsgroups a while > back). What kind of customer service is that? Lets see... you "saw something about this" and that therefore makes it true? WOW > What if Lycoming said, > "oh we dont *do* stuff for that engine anymore - youll have to buy > one of our new ones". I dont think so. But they (and every other manufacturer) DO! Want to buy a crank for an O-420? A case for an E225? There ARE limits, and few manufacturers (in this or any other industry) will service stuff out of production for 10 years or so. Narco has retreated from field sales and service due to market conditions. They maintain a central service station in PA, and my own experience as well as the reports of MANY others is that they do a good job at a reasonable (for aviation) price. I understand why Mr. Woempner feels put out, but so do a lot of people with Continental crankshafts, and cermachrome cylinders and a lot of wonderful stuff that went bad. I was pissed when I had to replace the display on my King KX155 radio after a few years for close to $300. It happens. Get over it. > Dave Blevins > > On Mon, 19 Feb 2001 19:53:33 GMT, "clyde woempner" > wrote: > > >Hi group.
