Greg, my advice is: Avoid all transponders that use cheap rotary
switches to
set the code. If dust gets into the rotary switches, you will transmit
a wrong
code without even knowing it (well, a few days ago a military
controller in charge of an Alert Area let me know, in very clear
words...)

I am going to replace my KT76A (which uses rotary switches) by a KT76C
(which features a keypad and a read-back display).
