Thanks for the opinion.
Since my last posting I have been doing a little experimenting. I tried an oxygen sensor with an egt probe attached. I measured the voltage put out by the O2 sensor with a digital voltmeter and the temperature indicated by the egt probe with a standard Westach gauge. I inserted the O2 sensor/egt probe assy. in the flame from a propane torch to measure sensitivity of each unit and found that the O2 sensor was very much more sensitive. When I would vary the airflow to the torch flame by closing off the aspirator ports in the torch the O2 sensor would respond immediately even though there was very little variation in the flame color or egt reading. Im thinking that using this technique in our two stroke engines would allow us to fine-tune the mixture and make the most of the admittedly poor fuel economy we have. What are your thoughts on the subject? I also invite anyone with experience or knowledge of this technology to comment on the viability of this technique.
