"Ted Heath" >If you own a Rotax from a 277 to a 618 ensure you have a functional and >calibrated EGT system (use a homemade jetcal) >Keep the EGTs equal to 70 deg F on each cylinder and within 1200 deg F >limits. What is a jetcal? Ive been reading UL magazines and flying Rotax for 16 years and have never heard of it. How can I make one? As far as EGTs are concerned, Ive come to prefer 1050 to 1125. Ive stop running them any hotter because it seems to cook the carbon into very hard deposits in the combustion chamber, and on the rings. -------------- Daniel Grunloh (grunloh@uiuc.edu) http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~grunloh |
