Bill_D Thats not really too far off. My suunto wrist altimeter can only be set to altimeter settings of .05" increments (i.e., 29.95, 30.00, 30.05...) so I usually have to round up or down since the altimeter is reported in .01" increments. That usually gives me some error, usually within 30 feet or more. Also keep in mind if youre getting the altimeter setting from a local ATIS, that info is usually old enough to be off by a little bit, even if you can set it to the exact altimeter reading reported..... I rarely see the exact same altitude twice at my apartment complex.....
