This faulty carabineer?
Was it one of those "quick release type" made from "aluminium", the type
that you can put in a vice and wiggle it back and forth to create mettle
fatigue cracks?
Or, is there a better way to make it faulty?

Hope you find a new expendable wife to invest in before the money runs
out:-)
