Ive heard (or seen), never used these:
While running use carb cleaner and spray on sealing surfaces (intake
manifold, case halves, seals) to see if the RPM changes.

While static - use bike inner tube and cut sealing gaskets for the
intake and exhaust manifold. Place these sealers between the block
and manifold and tighten the manifolds down. Now that the case is
sealed - open a plug hole (make an adapter with an old, gutted out
plug) you can pressurize (dont go crazy) or pull a vacuum on. See if
it will hold the pressure / vac. If pressurized - spray a soap
solution on the seal areas and look for air bubbles.
